Sign Language week
Kay came and visited Room 3 and Room 5 as part of Sign Language week.
We learnt how difficult it is for a deaf person to live in a "hearing world".
We learnt that sign language allows a deaf person to "hear" conversations.
We were given sheets which showed the alphabet with sign language.  We practiced introducing ourselves, explaining emotions, colours and asking other people what their name is.
Below are some pictures of Kay helping us.

  1. Wow, I am so proud of you all taking part in sign language week! Be sure to teach your families some of what you have learnt. I like to say "good morning my friend" in sign to Harvey first thing in the mornings without waking up the rest of the household!
