Maths - learning how to weigh with scales

We have been learning about measuring or weighing various items using scales.  Today we worked in small groups of four with AWESOME parent helpers and did some cooking.  We used the scales to measure our grams carefully.

Weights

We are learning to measure the weights of various items.  We are also learning to read scales, add measurements and estimate the weight of different pieces of classroom equipment. We can seriate items from those weighing the least to increasing in heaviness.  On the I-pads we are learning to place items on the scales and then put the correct weight on the other side on the scale.  Here are some photos of us working in our maths groups during maths today...
