On the 10th of September it was…. Cross country
run!! I had lots of butterflies and I
was so nervous. My heart was pounding
just looking at it. Finally it was the
seven year old girls turn. We went to
the starting line and we were off in a tick.
The crowd was cheering. Two or
three minutes later Baylee came 1st and I came 10th.

On Wednesday it was my cross country day. I was nervous but determined to cross the
finish line. When the race started lots
of people were clapping really loud. I
got the stitch but I came 4th.
My Dad was so proud of me.

Room 3 practised hard for the Cross Country Run. I practised really hard for the cross country
run. We persevered for the cross
country. There is a sad thing about it,
I didn’t get to do the Cross Country because I was sick. Baylee came first, Sian came second in the
Cross Country Run. I bet there was heaps
of cheering when people crossed the finished line. The course they did was two laps of
running. The cross country was last
Wednesday.

When Mrs Bassett took us to the starting line and I was
nervous when I was at the starting line.
My Mum said “Go Emma, go”. Cole
said “Go Emma, I know you can do it” I came 8th and hugged my friends.

On Wednesday the whole entire School did cross country, but
the Senior School did it on the Wednesday before us. When it was the Juniors turn we didn’t have
to run that far. We just had to run on
the field but the 8 year olds ran out of Clive School and they went down to the
Motel. Then Mrs Scott came and got the
seven year old girls and then it was our turn.

Cross country was last Wednesday. All the seven year old boys got called
up. We went to the starting line. Mrs Scott said “on your marks. Go.”
Then all the boys ran off as fast as they can. Harvey was in the led but then I caught up to
him. I was in front of everyone. Then we ran down to the gate. My friend Tyler was in the front.

On Wednesday the 7,6 and 5 year olds did cross country, I
took photos of them (so did Mrs Petherick.)
Baylee came 1st, Sian came 2nd and Yasmine came 3rd. But wait!
I told you about the 7,6 and 5 year olds; do you want me to tell you
about my cross country? Well o.k. so I
ran down to the Motels.

At cross country I was nervous when I got at the start line
(I was shaking with fear.) When I was close to the finish line the people were
cheering…. I got a number on my hand.
Guess what it is…. First. I was
so proud of myself.

On Wednesday it was x-country run. We had to run around the field two
times. It was fun but afterwards I was
really tired. I came 11th but
I tried my best. When Mrs Scott said
“3,2,1 go” I was really nervous. My heart was pounding and here it
comes…..”go” Everyone sprinted!!

At cross country we have to run a short distance or a long
distance. We have cross country because
it makes you get fit, you have to try your best otherwise if you say to the
teacher “I came last and I didn’t try my best”, the teacher will be
disappointed in you. You should try your
best at cross country because you might have a chance of coming first, second,
third or forth. I always try my best at
cross country because it’s good for you.

On Wednesday Seniors and Juniors did cross country. I was at the start line. I was very nervous. Mrs Scott said “ready, steady, go.” At that second I blasted off. I ran to the gate, around again and back to
the gate. There was a cone that I had to
run around. Then I ran hard out. My heart was puffing like it was going to
explode. Then I saw it, the finish line,
it was right in front of me. I ran hard
core. But then Teina was right in front
of me. Max W came 1st place,
Tyler came second place, Teina came 3rd place and I (lucky me), came
4th place. The parents were
cheering “yay woo woo.” I was very, very
proud of myself. I was also very, very
determined to cross the finish line. The
other people were way, way, way back behind me, except Rhys, he was like ten
metres away from me. But eight year
olds, nine year olds had to run out of
the school. Some people had to go to
past the church to the Motel.

On the day of the cross country, I was nervous, because I
was running with fast people. When we
ran I was trying to run at least one lap and I did it without giving up. Then I had to do one more lap. I was getting puffed but I didn’t want to
give up. I was coming 3rd
place. But Harvey was behind me. Then Harvey passed me, then I passed him,
then I came third. My cousin was
watching me and my Mum and Dad.
