Recipe.

Some parents have requested the recipe we used for cooking yesterday.  Here it is!  Thanks for supporting our learning at home by continuing to do baking with your child.  Happy measuring of grams!

Chocolate chip cookies
Don’t be tempted to keep cooking these as they don’t seem done, but they will cook a while longer after you take them out of the oven and then are lovely and chewy.
 Soften butter – 95 grams
White sugar – 50 grams
Brown sugar – 125grams
Egg – 1
Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
Flour –  190 grams
Salt – ¼ tsp
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Soda – ½ tsp
Chocolate chips –

1.       Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
2.       In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugars, egg and vanilla.
3.       In another bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda
4.       Combine wet and dry ingredients.
5.       Stir in chocolate chips.
6.       Roll the mixture into balls (about a tsp full) and place on a greased baking tray. These don’t need to be flatten with a fork.

7.       Bake ten minutes.
